Panamanian artist recognized in his country and internationally. He has made numerous presentations as soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and orchestra in the Americas, Africa and Europe. His commitment to social, cultural and artistic development in his country and the region stands out. For the creation of FUNSINCOPA and the ASMF he has received numerous national and international recognitions. Currently, he is Extraordinary Professor of Cello at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Panama, Artist of the Miami Philharmonic, in addition to his role in the foundation and personal musical projects.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Master’s degree in Water Resources Management from UNESCO -IHE (The Netherlands) and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Louisiana State University (USA). Valeria was the Executive Director of FUNSINCOPA from 2016 to 2021. She has more than 10 years of experience in the different stages of the development project cycle in academia, government and United Nations agencies, knowledge and experience that have equipped her with the tools to plan and accompany the implementation of the different programs and projects of the foundation in an efficient and sustainable manner, while collaborating with a great diversity of actors from the public sector, corporate, foundations and individuals. She currently accompanies the foundation as an advisor.

Born in Panama City, Panama, she studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising and Marketing Administration at the Universidad del Istmo. She is an administrator by profession in the area of real estate with 15 years of experience. She currently serves as Administrative Director of the Fundación Sinfonía Concertante de Panamá. Challenge that she has assumed from her enthusiasm for culture and the arts. She defines herself as a cheerful person, with eclectic musical tastes and fascination for the folkloric culture of our country. She is a former dancer of the Panamanian Folkloric Ballet of Prof. Elisa de Cespedes. She is currently a student of the Centro de Estudios Superiores de Bellas Artes y Folklore de la Chorrera, graduating class of 2023 in the career of Superior Technician in Folklore. Member of the National Academy of Pollera and the School of Judges. Invited judge in pollera competitions. She has also been a volunteer voice for Live Walk Panama projects.

A native of Venezuela, Stefany Sarmiento began her studies in the Venezuelan Orchestra System, forming several orchestras. She taught violin at the Centro Académico de Estudios Musicales de Tachira (2004-2010). In 2007 she joined the Violin and Chamber Music Department of Nuevo Mundo (Venezuela) under the direction of Maestro Simón Gollo, performing as soloist and concertina in several opportunities. She completed her undergraduate studies at Bard College (New York). During 2014-2016 she worked as a string specialist in a music program for underprivileged children of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra and as an active member of the Symphony Orchestra of Allentown, Pennsylvania. Since 2022 she is the General Coordinator of FUNSINCOPA’s music program.

With a degree in Music from the University of Panama and in Trumpet from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, he maintains an intense artistic and pedagogical activity. He has participated in band training and conducting seminars in Colombia, festivals in Costa Rica and Cuba, and training in musical guilds in Mexico. With different groups he has toured the central and east coast of the USA, Canada, Mexico, Colombia and Panama. As a teacher, he has collaborated with the Vice Rectory of Student Affairs of the University of Panama in the culture department, and has directed the music bands of the National Institute 2007-2009 and the José Dolores Moscote Institute 2012. In addition to being a professor of musical initiation and trumpet at FUNSINCOPA, he accompanies the foundation as Coordinator of the musical program in Nolasco and Don Bosco.

She has a degree in Social Communication with a major in Organizational Communication and studies in Management and Public Relations from the Universidad Católica Santa Rosa. At the age of 14 she began her viola studies with Rosa María Barrios (from the Simón Bolívar Orchestra) and María Fernanda Oropeza. He was a member of the Propatria Youth Orchestra, the Propatria Children Singers and the Symphonic Choir, and the Orchestra and Choir of the Simon Bolivar Conservatory of Music. He taught viola lessons and was a workshop leader in several centers in Caracas and in the schools of the metropolitan area. She stands out in her level of responsibility, commitment and cooperation to achieve effective results in her professional performance. Since 2016 she is part of the FUNSINCOPA team, as the Coordinator of the Alfredo de Saint Malo Festival and in support of other administrative areas, also through her agency Caruci Media, she supports in the area of Communication and Marketing not only the foundation but also other organizations in Panama such as the Mozart 250 Foundation and Belle Art Corp. She also teaches language classes and is a member of the Camerata Panama Choir.

Degree in Applied Arts Design (industrial design), graduated with 1st place honors from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Panama. She has a Diploma in Speech from the Universidad Interamericana and in Leadership and Team Management from the Universidad Latina, with courses in time maximization, sales, customer service, marketing, among others. Because of her ability to create strategies and follow up on them, she has been the Development Coordinator of FUNSINCOPA since 2017.
She belonged to the Santa Rita Ecclesiastical Choir, for 10 years and has been Public Relations for the IXOYE Foundation since 2011, which promotes the composition of Catholic music and is the creator of the Santa Cecilia Choir that has had more than 140 members.
As a cultural manager by vocation she has general knowledge in fine arts, restoration, music, folklore, fashion design, runway modeling and photography, and was President of the Parents Club of the National School of Dances of the former National Institute of Culture (2013-2015) receiving a special distinction during her tenure.

Jeannete is a passionate accountant committed to classical music in Panama. As a member of the Fundación Sinfonía Concertante de Panamá, she uses her accounting expertise to ensure the efficient and transparent financial management of the organization. With a strong background in accounting and a deep love for music, Jeannete plays a key role in the support and development of musical projects that enrich Panama’s cultural scene.

Abigail Jordan

Entrepreneur, and student of Graphic Design. She started a freelance job in 2019 while pursuing a degree in music. Due to a change of circumstances brought about by the pandemic and the fact that most of her family has talent and experience in the design world, she decides to launch a design studio, Abi Design Studio being the founder and director.

Aciria Jordan

She graduated as a Graphic Designer in 1996. She has worked with many printing companies in Panama, accumulating experience in advertising design and marketing. Personal issues led her to retire from the market for a while, until the idea of entrepreneurship came up and she decided to resume her practice as a designer at Abi Design Studio.

Born in Caracas Venezuela. Began her studies at the age of 6 in the National System of Youth and Children’s Choirs and Orchestras of Venezuela.

Orchestra. She has been living in Panama since 2014, working as a violin teacher in different schools and as a performer in different orchestras and
performer in different orchestras and musical groups in Panama City. She is a senior student in the
Violin career at the University of Panama. Currently Professor of Musical Initiation and Early Stimulation, and
Violin teacher in the National Network of Orchestras and Youth Choirs of Panama.

Venezuelan violinist, she began her studies at the Escuela Superior de Música José Ángel Lamas. She studied with Domingo García, Miguel Gonzalez, Iosif Cengueri, Susana Salas and María Fernanda Montero. He belonged to the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Chacao y de Miranda, Orquesta Sinfónica Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Caracas and Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela. She was part of the Orquesta Típica De La Universidad Central De Venezuela and worked as violin teacher at the Núcleos De Montalban, Los Chorros and Guarenas belonging to the System and in charge of the violin chair at the Colegio Hebraica de Caracas.

Susana Salas

He began his studies at the José Luis Paz Conservatory in Maracaibo and continued them with José Luis Balda, Ramón Román and Anthony Jakubowsky. He has received master classes from Charles Shapiro, Josef Gingold, Agustín Dumay and Margarethe Pardee. He lived in Germany where he was part of the orchestra of the Landesteather Detmold and began his studies of Musicology at the University of Paderborn. Upon his return to Venezuela he was Concertmaster of the National Philharmonic Orchestra and maintained a fruitful pedagogical and soloist work. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in musicology. Since 2016 she resides in Panama.

Jessica Palacios was trained at the Sistema de Orquestas de Venezuela in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar State since 1994, starting with the viola in 1996. Since then she has received classes with different teachers such as César Carreño, Alexi Díaz, Modesto Marcano, Santiago Garmendia, Adriana Virguez and César Suárez. Professor of the viola and musical language at the Bolivar center and principal of the violas of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Ciudad Guayana since 2006. Viola teacher at the Amadeus Academy in 2012. Currently she has collaborated with the Orchestra of the University of Panama, belongs to the Philharmonic Orchestra of Panama and Camerata Panama.

Venezuelan cellist, she began her musical studies in the Sistema de Orquestas de Venezuela, where she made an important career as a important career as a musician as well as a violoncello teacher. She was also a violin, piano and cello teacher at the cello at the School of Music Rhythm, New York – USA. Through a competition, she was admitted to the Orquesta Sinfónica under the tutelage of Maestro Dietrich Paredes, in which she had the opportunity to be part of the tours around the continent. Tours throughout the American continent, Europe and Asia. He also took part in Binational Orchestras with
Colombia, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Croatia and Portugal. Parallel to her musical and orchestral studies, she obtained a degree in Social Communication.

Yumiko

Originally from Japan, she began her musical studies at the age of three. With a master’s degree in cello, she has taken master classes in different festivals around the world, and received master classes with renowned professors Ludovit Kanta, Bartok Cuartet, among others. She taught music classes at the Yamaha Music School during 2005 and 2006. During 2007 and 2008 she worked as a JICA volunteer at the University of Panama. She was a professor at the National Institute of Music and is currently a member of the National Symphony Orchestra and professor and workshop leader of the cello chair at the Fundación Sinfonía Concertante de Panamá.

Alexis Arango studied contrabass at the National Conservatory of Music of Panama and at the University of Panama under the tutelage of Roberto Flórez. The preparation for his degree recital was under the tutelage of Dr. Ricardo Zuñiga, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in the instrument. He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama, Philharmonic Orchestra of Panama, Camerata Panama Orchestra, University Symphony Orchestra of Panama, Isthmus Orchestra, Polyphonic Choir of Panama. In the field of secular music, he has participated in accompaniments of artists such as Pedro Brull, Pedro Arroyo, Pupy Santiago, among others. Among his participations with orchestras of this genre are: Orquesta Sociedad Anónima, Luis Lugo y la 507 and many others.

Diego Burgos - oboe

Panamanian oboist Diego Burgos was born on July 14, 1998. He is currently the English oboist and horn player of the Panama Symphony Orchestra. He completed his studies at the National Conservatory of Music Narciso Garay under the tutelage of Maestro Juan Castillo in 2017 . He was Oboist of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Panama and has participated in various youth orchestras that have helped him in his musical training. He has also represented Panama in countries such as Costa Rica and the United States. He continues his musical studies at the University of Panama in the Faculty of Fine Arts.

She began her musical studies in Panama City at the Escuela Juvenil de Música under the tutelage of Professor Rommel Charpentier. After receiving her Bachelor of Music degree, Dafne wins a Fullbright scholarship and studies a Master’s Degree in Flute Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Months later, the University decided to grant her a scholarship for the Professional Artist Certification program. Ms. Guevara completed her Doctoral studies in Flute Performance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Here she also served as a professor in the music department and director of the University’s Flute Choir. In December 2016, Ms. Guevara helped establish in Panama the first Flute Players Association in the country. With this group, she organized the International Flute Festivals of Panama.

Venezuelan musician, he is an active interpreter of the natural horn, pioneer in Latin America in its teaching and in the diffusion of this as a soloist instrument. He is regularly invited to be part of the staff of teachers and lecturers and as a soloist in different orchestras and festivals in Germany, Czech Republic and Latin America, among others. He is currently Professor of the Horn Chair of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Panama, President of the Delfino Núñez Ibero-American Horn School Foundation, Professor of the Horn Chair of the Mozarteum Center of Caracas in Venezuela and Area representative for the International Horn Society.

Santiago Vega - trombón

Bachelor in Music / Trombone from the Centro Educativo de Artes Diversificadas de Panamá. Santiago, has outstanding participations as trombonist in different ensembles, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, Symphony Orchestra of the University of Costa Rica and the Republican Band of Panama. Winner of the University of Costa Rica University Soloist Competition 2019, Among his participations in workshops and festivals we can mention: Trombone Workshop of Panama, Brass Forum – University of Costa Rica, ANC Camp, Central American Youth Orchestra, International Trombone Festival of Costa Rica, ASMF, among others.

Panamanian percussionist Daniel Perez has performed with various groups in the country, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Panama. He has participated in the Costa Rica International Marimba Competition (2019), National Concert Association Youth Music Camp (2019) and the Alfredo De Saint Malo International Music Festival (2018), where he received an honorable mention in the Soloist competition. She has received lessons with teachers of the stature of: Pedro Fernandez, Erich Rieppel, Fernando Meza, Erich Cha-Beach, Jason Treunting, Elizabeth DeLaMater, Bill Salak, among others. He is currently a member of The Orchestra of the Americas and is about to complete his degree in percussion at the University of Panama, under the tutelage of Dr. Carlos Camacho. He is also an instructor in the Network of Youth and Children’s Orchestras of Panama and the Atenea Institute Band.

Victor Mata

Venezuelan conductor and violinist, founding member of “El Sistema”. He is currently head of the Music Department and Director of the Orchestra and Choir of the Isaac Rabin School in Panama. Artistic Director and Founder of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Panama and Camerata Panama. He has been collaborator and advisor of the National Concert Association, the Panama Opera Foundation and the Polyphonic Choir of Panama. He has a degree in Orchestra Conducting, graduated from the Universidad Experimental de las Artes and a Diploma in Orchestral Conducting from the Inter-American Council of Musical Studies. He has performed as Guest Conductor in the most important Symphony Orchestras of Venezuela.

Panamanian clarinetist, he has studied with Rafael García, Jorge Oliva, Reinaldo Álvarez, Vinicio Mezza and Yamileth Perez. He has also received orchestral conducting lessons with Raúl Gómez, Carlos Riazuelo, Cesar Leal and Norman Gamboa. Since 2002 he is a member of the Republican Band of Panama and replacement clarinetist of the Panama Municipal Symphonic Band. He also has an intense career as a clarinet teacher at Escuela Guillermo E. Galimany and the Alfred Nobel School (La Chorrera).

He began his viola studies with Rosa María Barrios (of the Simón Bolívar Orchestra) and María Fernanda Oropeza. He was a member of the Orquesta Juvenil de Propatria, the Niños Cantores de Propatria and the Coro Sinfónico, and the Orquesta y Coro del Conservatorio de Música Simón Bolívar. She taught viola lessons and was a workshop leader in several centers in Caracas and in the schools of the metropolitan area. She has a degree in Social Communication with a major in Organizational Communication and studies in Management and Public Relations at the Universidad Católica Santa Rosa. She currently works as Coordinator of the Alfredo De Saint Malo Music Festival, teaches language and violin classes at FUNSINCOPA and is a member of the Camerata Panama Choir.
